Inspiration

Crime and emergencies happen fast, but reporting is slow, confusing, and unsafe. We wanted a system that helps people report incidents instantly with clarity, privacy, and tracking like a real “crime support workflow” not just a complaint box

What it does

TheftTether is a crime-reporting prototype that lets users choose a crime category, add basic details, attach photo/video evidence (mock), capture location (UI-level) and track case status from submission to action. It also includes the concept of Agni, an AI legal + voice assistant for guidance and navigation.

How we built it

We built the entire project using V0 vibe coding as a front-end prototype with clean UI screens and mock data to simulate reports, evidence uploads, and status updates. No backend, no database, no real-time integrations are implemented yet.

Challenges we ran into

Designing a fast reporting flow for panic situations, balancing anonymity with useful evidence, keeping the system realistic without overclaiming, and making the prototype feel end-to-end even without backend storage or authority integrations.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We delivered a complete user journey UI (report → evidence → tracking), strong branding (“Crime’s Worst Enemy”), scalable feature blueprint (verification + dashboards + AI) and a demo-ready prototype that clearly communicates the product vision.

What we learned

Safety-tech needs ultra-simple UX, responsible claims, and strong privacy thinking. V0 is great for speed and validation, but real deployment needs backend, security, compliance and real data for AI verification.

What's next for TheftTether “Crime’s Worst Enemy”

Build backend + database, implement authentication and case storage, add AI fake-evidence detection + risk scoring, create police/admin dashboards with assignment workflows, add multilingual + voice reporting, and integrate real-time notifications and legal compliance layers.
