Inspiration

News content online is cluttered and unorganized, buried in ads and paywalls, and hard to explore. We wanted to give you access to the best of news.

What it does

thedailybot.ai can take factually grounded information from online and summarize it for you and allowing you to explore and ask follow up questions. You can try things like "what's the latest positive news about climate change" and then say "tell me more about the architecture story" and then "why is this important?"

How we built it

Anthropic Claude 2, LangChain, Vercel, Next.js, React, news and search APIs.

Challenges we ran into

Speed to find and ingest news content for use in context. Generating high quality API queries based on the conversation history and query intent.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It's really great not just at finding news about different subjects, but then letting you explore the news stories in detail and ask follow up questions and explanations.

What we learned

Large context windows provide for a new approach to content analysis and can be used to improve performance on complex content tasks.

What's next for thedailybot.ai

Adding into Andi search as a new search feature combining the news exploration chat UX with rich news visuals. Improving content ingestion and adding more semantic features. Improving queries to find news from specified sources, date ranges etc.
