Inspiration
From my own love of cooking and seeing friends struggle to find fresh, homemade meals, we wanted to create a platform that connects home chefs with people who crave authentic, home-cooked food. TheChef turns your kitchen into a personal restaurant, giving everyone a chance to share their culinary skills with their local community.
What we learned
During development, we learned how to design user-friendly interfaces, handle order management, and integrate payment systems safely. We also improved our teamwork, project planning, and problem-solving skills under time constraints.
How we built it
TheChef was built as a web application with a clean, intuitive interface:
Users can create a personal restaurant profile, upload menus, and accept orders.
Customers can browse nearby chefs, place orders, and provide ratings and feedback.
Admin panel for order tracking and restaurant management.
Challenges:
Managing real-time order updates and notifications.
Designing a simple UX that works for both chefs and customers.
Ensuring the prototype was functional in a short development timeframe.
