Inspiration

When writing, people often have trouble knowing where to begin. We realized that music always sets the tone and inspires people.

What it does

Our web app generates a writing prompt that is based on a randomly generated song. The songs are populated through Spotify.

How we built it

We built our web app using React JS and Spotify's embedded widgets

Challenges we ran into

• Implementing Spotify API
• Operating with limited programming knowledge

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Learned React JS
• Improved CSS skills
• Worked successfully in a virtual environment

What's next for The Write Song

• Integrate Spotify login
• Allow users to specify a genre, playlist, artist, etc
