Inspiration
We both really wanted to learn a new game development tool to create a game from scratch.
What it does
It takes in a png pixel-art image of a map, decodes it, and renders levels for the user to play and enjoy.
How we built it
All pygame with a dash of a few packages.
Challenges we ran into
The TIME CONSTRAINT. We had so many more features planned, like multiplayer, creating a neural network to try to beat our game, etc. We still want to follow through on these tasks after the hackathon.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Coins
- Level System
- Simple UI implementation (pygame has no native UI methods/ objects)
- A finished product (not 'complete', but technically finished)
What we learned
Making a game takes hard work and LOTS of planning. We grinded for the entirety of the time allotted and tried to reduce our AI usage as much as possible. We really only used it for debugging when we were stuck for more than an hour.
What's next for The World's Most Game
LOTS to come! We'll post on my itch.io page soon!
