There are so many people who have needs they can't meet and there are people who have means and would love to help. Wish chain merges them together and proves that distance is not a barrier.

Inspiration

All over tiktok I have been seeing the angel tree videos and I wished we had something like that in Nigeria. So I taught if we can't implement it physically we should do so digitally.'

What it does

it connects people in need with people who want to provide assistance both to those in need and to individuals

How we built it

we used Django to develop a web app that mocks the flow of how angel tree works

Challenges we ran into

not yet, but in future might be reaching out to the donors and getting them on the platform

Accomplishments that we're proud of

we have a mostly done web app and market research shows interest in the app

What we learned

a lot of people have needs but lack access to those who can provide it

What's next for The WishChain

going into the market and helping lives all year round not just on Christmas
