Inspiration
I was inspired by the Renaissance itself—an era of rebirth, innovation, and intellectual awakening. I wanted to create a digital space that captures the spirit of that period and makes it accessible to modern learners, educators, and history lovers.
What it does
Our website serves as an interactive educational hub dedicated to the Renaissance period. It features timelines, information, and engaging content covering art, science, and literature of the era.
How I built it
I used HTML and CSS for the front end to create a clean and responsive user interface. The back end is powered by a lightweight JavaScript to make it interactive.
Challenges I ran into
One of the biggest challenges was presenting historical content in a way that’s both accurate and engaging for a modern audience. I also faced difficulties curating reliable sources and designing an intuitive layout that doesn’t overwhelm users with information.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I'm proud of how I turned dense historical data into a fun, interactive experience. Our timeline feature is very visually appealing. I'm also proud that the site is fully responsive and works well across devices with some help from bootstraps.
What I learned
I deepened my understanding of web development, content curation, and user experience design. Most importantly, I learned how to turn passion for a subject into a digital experience that can educate and inspire others.
What's next for The Website About The Renaissance
Next, I plan to add a user account system so learners can track progress and bookmark content. We also aim to collaborate with historians and educators for curated lesson plans and potentially expand into other historical periods, turning this into a full-scale educational platform.
