Inspiration

Our best friend losing his Father to a Heart attack 2 weeks ago because it wasn't noticeable until it was happening and too late and one of the teammates having an irregular heart. We want to pitch an idea that can go further than just this Hackathon and can become something that saves those with deadly heart complications with buying more time for help before its too late and irreversible.

What it does

The CardioWatchDog will be placed on the lower left side of the chest that will listen in on the Hearts blood pressure when its stressed through turbulence when tighter and narrow arteries in the heart occur.

It is a chest wearable that you stick on your chest

It uses 2 main sensing systems to determine if a cardiac event is happening which is the EKG and a digital stethoscope. By connecting the device to your phone using Bluetooth it can send automated alerts and even call 911 on your behalf give you precious mins to go get help.

Challenges we ran into

The smaller and backed arteries in the Heart are harder to hear the moment there is a complication but stress will still be sensed the The CardioWatchDog momentary when it begins to spread(The Hearts stress).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

A step closer to saving more Medical emergency time and lives through detecting stress on the Heart without bulky hassles.

What we learned

Most Patients that suffer from Heart complication symptoms (Fatigue, shortness of breathe, cold sweat, bone pain, etc.) as they are happening are unnoticed until it is too late.

What's next for The CardioWatchDog

Continued research and advancing the prototype with a real phone app.
