Inspiration

Our team was inspired by San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity's mission to provide affordable housing solutions since 1990. We recognized the challenges they faced with data management and impact measurement, and saw an opportunity to create a transformative CRM system that could streamline their operations and amplify their impact in the community.

What it does

Our CRM solution integrates multiple data sources into a cohesive system, handling surveys, Excel uploads, and manual inputs in one place. It features: A dynamic dashboard that pulls data directly from Google Sheets for easy filtering and visualization of key metrics A comprehensive survey system with unique links for Volunteer, Homeowner, and Home Preservation surveys Role-based security to protect sensitive data An innovative chatbot that can answer data-related questions in real-time

How we built it

We developed the CRM using free tools like Google Sheets and Data Studio to ensure cost-effectiveness. The system was built with a focus on user-friendliness, requiring minimal training for staff members. We implemented robust data protection measures, including encryption and secure access protocols.

Challenges we ran into

The main challenge was integrating multiple data sources into a single, cohesive system while ensuring data security and accessibility. We also had to balance the need for comprehensive functionality with ease of use for staff members with varying levels of technical expertise.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of creating a solution that directly impacts hundreds of volunteers, dozens of homeowners, and the entire staff of San Gabriel Valley Habitat for Humanity. Our CRM transforms how the organization operates and measures its impact, addressing their specific needs for streamlined data collection, real-time insights, and enhanced engagement.

What we learned

Through this project, we gained valuable insights into the unique challenges faced by non-profit organizations in managing data and measuring impact. We learned the importance of user-centric design and the power of leveraging free tools to create cost-effective solutions for organizations with limited resources.

What's next for The Vizards

Moving forward, we plan to: Continuously refine and expand the CRM's capabilities based on user feedback Explore integrations with additional data sources and tools Develop more advanced analytics features to provide even deeper insights Create a scalable version of the system that could benefit other Habitat for Humanity affiliates or similar non-profit organizations
