Inspiration

Our inspiration came from the harmful algae blooms that harms Lake Erie.

What it does

To innovate people and connect them to the real value of water. The app is both a simulation as well as a game.

How We built it

We used repl.it as well as an app/website called Metaverse. Metaverse lets you create simulation games, that's how we designed ours. Our app is currently a prototype, and we only have the simulation portion worked on as of now. Our Sites of interest are an Achievement/Reward System (Manual Review as of now).

Challenges We ran into

Well, on our team we have one intermediate coder and two beginner coders. It was really hard to execute our ideas with two beginners, not knowing anything about basic programming. But, the intermediate coder brought the team to together and helped out in any way as well as helping to explain and guide the beginners.

Accomplishments that We're proud of

We are so proud of our team! We started our very roughly and confused. But after a lot of planning, organization, communication, and teamwork we were able to come up with something that will have a helpful impact on water conservation and water usage.

What We learned

That with a certain amount of time and effort, we can buckle down and accomplish anything we put our minds to. As well as, this experience has helped us learn and grow as individuals and programmers.

What's next for The Value Of Water: NIL Water Co.

Our next steps for NIL Water Co., is finishing a game that works alongside the simulation so that users can get a one on one personal experience that can help change their perspective when it comes to water.
