Inspiration
NFTs are a fascinating new technology! We were interested in utilizing them somehow inside the scope of space. We brainstormed for a bit and came up with the idea that people could purchase an NFT token certifying their ownership of a piece of space junk. We wanted to create an interactive shopping experience like stuffin and create unique gif or svg token like many you see on openSea.
What it does
The project turned out to be too complicated for a weekends hackathon for our group, but we had fun exploring some new tech.
How we built it
Our plan was to host our own React website where we would sell the tokens and generate the blockchain ledger to keep track of who owns what and how the tokens change.
Challenges we ran into
Selenium was a difficult language to use due to a lack of documentation. We were able to compile a token generator, but integrating that into the website was a challenge we couldn’t overcome. The gif svgs were also very complicated.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Our logo was pretty legit.
What we learned
NFTs are expensive. Source control can be messy if you don’t know what you’re doing.
What's next for arwaste
We don’t plan on finishing the project. It was a fun idea to contemplate though!
