Inspiration
Our group( Caroline Goh Qian Hui, Fong Yu Luke, Tan Zi Xuan, Nathaniel Low) thought about how we can spread festivity and generosity for our community. Since tis the season what better way to spread festivity and generosity than writing Christmas messages for everybody!
What it does
Users will create an account and use the page to write messages and wishes which is then put onto the tree as ornaments. Then other users on the page can click onto the ornaments to view anonymous messages from other users, making them feel the festivity during this Christmas season. The users can also make personalised cards to send to their friends and family using our send a card page in this website.
How we built it
We first used figma to create a prototype including the designs for our project, then we coded the website out from the prototype using css, javascirpt, and html. Afterwards, we used prisma schema on a neon database with javascript so that we can manipulate the data on the backend
Challenges we ran into
We had a lot of trouble on the backend and some conflicting ideas along the way.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to output a somewhat finished product by the deadline
What we learned
How to work together to solve this hackathon task as a team and how to use the different coding languages to make our website into a reality.
What's next for The tree of sharing
Improvements on the webpage with possible new features in the future.
