After given hardware such as the Myo Armband, we really wanted to take advantage of it. We all love music, so of course, we wanted to make an app that involved music. Our inspiration mainly stemmed from wanting to be able to play anything. How awesome would it be if we got to pick a broom, start playing it as a guitar, and then hear the sounds of a guitar?!

Using gestures and the positioning of your hand, it's possible to mimic a drum/synth sound by moving your hand up and down.

Setting up Android Studio proved to be a struggle. It was also difficult choosing what data we should use from the Myo armband and integrating it into the app.

We're super proud that we actually got it working in time!

We learned how to work with android studio and how to receive and interpret data from the Myo armband. Developing mobile apps on android and using hardware was a new experience for all of us.

We definitely plan to work on this app in the future! Wearable technology is getting more and more popular and in the future, I imagine The Traveling Artist become more and more accessible.
