Inspiration
Our inspiration was to provide knowledge to our users and enhance their experience on researching their travel to their preferred country by:
- Provide Flight information to the user about flying to the user preferred country.
- Teach basic phrases in the local language and dialect with a google translator api.
- Educating users about safety information in order for them to be respectful to the culture and society in that country.
- Provide key historical dates and events
- Suggest local cuisines and national dishes
What it does
Our website provides details, by using API's to gather travel information.
How we built it
We built this project by brainstorming ideas as a team. We split the groups into teams with similar coding interests. We used API’s to gather the data we needed for each country.
Challenges we ran into
- How to gather the information from the API’s. -Implementing API with HTML (and with python) -Connecting the multiple different coding languages together -Combining and distributing code and files through Git
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Connecting the front-end and the back-end software together.
- Creating a product.
- Creating the front-end.
- Collaborated in the back-end.
- We all collaborated integrating databases through API's.
What we learned
-HTML -CSS -Maven -Javascript(Node) -Python -GitHub -Json & API(web scraping) -Python Flask framework
- We also learned to collaborate as a team.
What's next for The Traveler's Handbook
Expand the user experience for the user such as integrating music, dance, and monuments. We also hope to improve the front-end and back-end software.
