THE TRADE started as a personal reflection on my decade-long journey from corporate video work in Canadian government offices to producing AI films for Fortune 500 companies and Hollywood studios. I wanted to explore the complexity of "making it" - how success isn't always the pure victory we imagine. What inspired me: The contrast between the wild creative freedom of learning AI tools in 2023-24 (staying up until 3am making absurd experimental projects) versus the structured professional work I do now. Both are rewarding, but something shifted. I traded chaos for opportunity, and I'm still figuring out how I feel about that trade.
