🧠 Inspiration
The Throne was born from a simple, provocative idea: what if ego could be monetized?
In a digital world obsessed with status, we created a space where vanity has a price — and while glory fades for most, one will have theirs forever.
No utility. No roadmap. Just one throne, one ruler, and a countdown.
A social experiment turned digital empire.
A statement on how far people will go to be seen.
🛠️ What It Does
The Throne is a live auction for symbolic internet dominance. Anyone can dethrone the current ruler by paying more.
This prototype demonstrates the mechanics — the final version will use real money.
Each time someone claims the throne:
- 50% of the bid goes directly to the previous ruler
- The other 50% is claimed by the platform
- Live reign feed
- Cooldowns and max bid limits (prototype-only, to simulate flow and prevent spam)
- Ruler gets the name, the glory, and public recognition
- A global countdown marks the end of the game — the final ruler will be immortalized
⚙️ How I Built It
- Built entirely with Bolt.new
- Backend: Supabase (auth, DB, real-time) — integrated via Bolt
- Deployment: Bolt + Entri + Netlify
- Design: AI-generated assets No manual coding. Everything was created visually inside Bolt.
⚔️ Challenges
- Building a system that feels fair and resistant to abuse
- Designing a loop that fuels ego and competition without traditional progression
- Implementing prototype-only cooldowns and throttling to simulate game flow
- Fitting everything into a clean, mobile-first experience
- Creating a provocative experience people are actually willing to pay for
💡 What I Learned
- Ego is a more powerful currency than money
- Simplicity beats complexity in viral mechanics
- Bolt.new is fast — dangerously fast
- You don’t need AI to solve problems. Sometimes it exists to provoke one
