Inspiration

Currently there is no actual e-commerce structure or a business model to get e-waste from people and get it recycled on a large scale. Constant collection and recycling of digital waste will help us fight the climate crisis.

What it does

The Sustainable store is an online platform where the users can earn points by giving out their waste to our store officials. The points earned can be used to buy recycled products from our website which is made from waste collected from our users.

How we built it

We have also used an ML model to classify the given waste into different categories which will help to raise awareness of waste recycling. We have used the following for the web app: Frontend: React Native, Backend: NodeJS, ExpressJS ,Database: MongoDB

Challenges we ran into

Since we are dependent on a machine learning model, it is difficult to get enough data to train the model so that the accuracy of our model increases. While developing the app, we ran into the challenge of integrating the backend with the machine learning model.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

1.Making recycled products made from digital waste available for purchase. 2.Can generate mode of employment to local workers and craftsmen. 3.Currently there is no actual e-commerce structure or a business model to get e-waste from people and get it recycled on a large scale. 4.Increasing awareness among people regarding e-waste and waste management. Constant collection and recycling of digital waste will help us fight the climate crisis
