The Study Bot

This is a machine that managed studying, with flexibility. The machine will either detect a sound or the distance from the student and their workspace, and notify the student.

Inspiration

We had taken inspiration from the shock watch and a police car. These seeming-less, irrelevant items, both share a common trait. Both are able to force a sleepy person to wake up. This is where the idea originated from.

What it does

This machine, know as the study bot is capable of performing task, such as time management, studies proficient, and waking you right up. Depending on the movement of the person, an alarm would sound in the area. There are different lock-in settings, when the student is not focused in the library, a little buzzing vibration goes off. In your room, a loud alarm will go off. If you leave your study space, the lights will go off.

How we built it

The component that are going out be used in this projects are, multiple wires, resistors, a LDC, a 4-digit 7 component, two different kinds of buzzer, LED lights, and a MEGA controller. By arranging them in a specific position, we will be able to reduce and compact them in a breadboard. Capable to be easy for transportation.

Challenges we ran into

Lacking in the experience of team members. Specifically the lack of knowledge with different aspect of programing that was giving to us. Web making, app making, data transfer through connect were the big challenge in our project. More above than to position every components on a single breadboard, re-wiring everything every so often, to better optimize it. In addition to the complex design for the sensory, ensuring that it works properly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Our greatness accomplishment though out our project, are the different challenges we faced to reach our final product. We had many ups and down while working with this design. Parts weren't working, the code wasn't properly designed well. However, in the end we were able to finish the hardware of the project. Which is a big accomplishment, since this is some of our first hackathons. Reaching to this point is a benchmark, for future events.

What we learned

We were able to utilized different platforms during our project. More specifical, using AI to better understand and better adapt with the material at hand. Using it as a framework when in need. In addition, we used that AI to aid us on creating an app and website. Furthermore, we were able to build and design a website to be used in hand with the study bot.

What's next for The Study Bot

For the study bot, the plan is to utilize this experience to improve for the next hackathons. However, finishing, and optimizing the study bot to get a better hand on experience is beneficial to us. The concept of the study bot would continue, but in a different shape and form.
