Many people use physical planners and notebooks to stay organized or simple planning apps but for many students this may not be enough to help them keep organized. Students may forget to log in or write notes, other organizing apps aren’t as interactive with options to work with other students or get help from a tutor within one platform Inspiration.
Our app acts as an all inclusive platform where students can find tutors, schedule virtual study groups, join study groups based on subjects they want to learn, create study groups, track study time and achievements (how long or how much student studied), discounts for students that use the app (incentives), and creating community post on inquries that students may have and what other student feedback on.
We used the Glide platform to create the app.
Many platforms like Webflow and Glide charge users to embed code into their app or website which we could not due, from using certain layouts in the app, the slide feature of the app wouldn’t work.To solve these issues, we tried our best to use free features available and experimented with other layouts.
We are proud to create this app for our first hackathon.
We were exposed to many new technologies during this hackathon. Although we couldn’t implement it we gained experience in Html and CSS. We also got very familar with services such as Glide. We learned how difficult it is to make any technological project especially with team members who were virtual and in different countries.
What's next for The Student Owl App is adding on other features and making the app more cohesive such as a working timer and leadership board.
