Inspiration
We want to help students learn to start keeping track of finances and how they can store and invest their money once they graduate we wanted to do it in a funny way as well to make it enjoyable to play.
What it does
Simulates year 4 of uni, then skips to after uni. Allows you to make decisions on your lifestyle, how you spend money and how you save it.
How we built it
We built it together using Python. We split the program into 4 parts and delegated tasks to each person, and then delegated new ones when the came up.
Challenges we ran into
We tried to make a user interface but ran into compatibility issues with our machines which unfortunately left us with not enough time to do it properly.
We were also all relatively new to GitHub, so navigating that was quite hard but we got the hang off it after a while.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Achieving what we set out to achieve (apart from gui) Working well in a team Improving our skills not only in coding but also in GitHub, too
What we learned
How to work together on a git hub repository, how to delegate tasks
What's next for THE STUDENT MONEY SIMULATOR GAME THING
Next would be to design and implement a user interface to make the game more fun and engaging to use.
