Inspiration Millions of NFL fans bet based on gut feelings and surface stats. We wanted to bring a data-driven, Moneyball-style approach to live betting. What it does The Spreadsheet combines real-time stats, past performance, and physics-based machine learning to calculate probabilities of betting lines hitting—updating live during games. How we built it We integrated live game feeds with historical data, applied machine learning models, and layered physics-inspired features like fatigue and pace to generate dynamic probability projections. Challenges we ran into Integrating real-time data smoothly, ensuring model accuracy mid-game, and making insights explainable—not just numbers—were major technical and design hurdles. Accomplishments that we're proud of Building a working prototype that updates live probabilities mid-game, giving users actionable insights and showing the power of physics-based ML in betting analytics. What we learned How to merge real-time sports data, historical trends, and advanced modeling into a clear, user-friendly product that balances technical rigor with accessibility. What's next for The Spreadsheet Expanding to more sports, refining our ML models, improving real-time performance, and preparing to launch a consumer-ready platform for smarter, evidence-based betting.
