The Spartan Solution

Inspiration

The Spartan Solution was inspired by shortcomings in current anti-counterfeiting software, such as Project Zero, which is not accessible to newer brands and requires frequent takedowns of counterfeit listings.

What it does

If a registered brand name or image is detected, The Spartan Solution requires an encrypted code to be submitted for listings to be considered. If an incorrect code were introduced, an account would be suspended until the e-commerce platform or Trademark owner reviews the case. Brand owners will also be notified when a third-party seller posts a listing under their brand name, and consumers can easily tell whether a brand is counterfeit by checking the title!

Due to revisions and adapting our project throughout the process, The Spartan Solution was conceptualized in less than a week!

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that, through teamwork and creativity, we were able to coordinate and finish this project under a tight deadline.

What we learned

We have learned that counterfeiting is an extensive issue with few good solutions. Hopefully, the judges consider The Spartan Solution to be one of them!

What's next for The Spartan Solution

We hope that e-commerce sites will take our idea into account when improving existing software and developing new ones!
