Inspiration
The inspiration for this project came from the apparent ending of the covid-19 pandemic. After starting this quarter online, Covid was on all of our minds. It appears to be slowing down across the country, but only time can tell.
What it does
Our project creates 4 geospatial data plots that show the data for multiple countries and every state in America.
How we built it
We built the project in Jupyter notebook and then converted it to a python script.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into some challenges with merging datasets.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
I was proud of the accomplishments we made with the graphing. We were able to craft 4 maps of the U.S. and the World that are shaded based on separate factors.
What we learned
We learned that GDP heavily impacted the speed of countries getting the vaccines. We also learned that states with lower GDP had a higher rate of covid cases.
What's next for The Socio-Economic Factors of Covid-19
We hope to analyze how some other socio-economic factors impacted the spread rate of covid, such as population density, economic support, or public education access.
