Inspiration
We love the idea of social network for condos, so we really try to focus on the social aspect.
What it does
We really focus in the social aspect of the application, so we build the entire application using realtime technology. This way every data in the application is shared instantaneously, just like in Facebook. And the user does not need to refresh the application to see if new data is available, it just appear in the screen delivering a awesome user experience.
*Announcements
We decide to not make announcements open for everyone, and it's like a Facebook timeline. Some tenant can post something like: "Hey guys, it's Friday, what about a pizza in my home tonight?" or "I have an emergency and I will not be able to stay at home tomorrow morning, someone can take care of my daughter please?". This way the application is much more interactive. Of course we planned to have some admins (landlords), to moderate the content (pin posts, delete posts and etc).
Chat
Our chat is unique for the entire community. Given the time we had, we choose to make only one chat room so every one can communicate, and this help the lack of comments in Announcements (in this version of course). But we plan to build chat just like Slack, with multiple channels, p2p and etc.
Schedule an public space
We think is one of the most common task executed in a condo and make every thing more transparent for everyone.
How we built it
Just using Firebase and swift ;)
Challenges we ran into
Lack of time. We had 72 hours to build the application, but unfortunately our team had some personal issues. So what we are delivering was build with much enforce and a little time. we had a change to delivery much more, as we intent.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We a really short time, we were able to delivery what we think really is the key feature of the application, the social feature.
All of us didn't knew each other, and we are able to work as team.
What we learned
Work in pressure as a team.
We learned how to pivot our product to delivery something different from everyone else, and that we are proud of.
