Inspiration

The idea for THE SNIPER was inspired by the concept of hidden justice, how truth often dies before it reaches the surface. I wanted to explore the emotional weight of vengeance through a futuristic lens, where technology and corruption intertwine. The story of Vrans, a silent sniper seeking revenge for his father’s death, mirrors the universal struggle against power and betrayal.

What it does

THE SNIPER is a short cinematic project blending realistic visuals, AI-generated art, and storytelling. It captures the rise of a lone sniper who hunts corrupt figures that hide behind systems of control. Through a fusion of futuristic aesthetics and noir atmosphere, the project delivers both emotional depth and visual intensity.

How we built it

The film was developed using Leonardo.Ai for character and environment design, Kling AI for image-to-video transitions, and Veo 3 and Hailuo AI for supporting cinematic shots that couldn’t be handled by Kling AI. Additional visuals were created using Dreamina AI and Google AI Studio to enhance environmental depth and atmosphere. Sound design and voice elements were added using ElevenLabs for text-to-speech dialogue and layered sound effects for emotional tension. All sequences were assembled and refined in CapCut, where final editing, pacing, and visual effects were adjusted to ensure a seamless cinematic experience. Story planning, dialogue writing, and sequencing were done manually to maintain emotional pacing and storytelling coherence. The project relied heavily on iterative concept generation and refinement, ensuring each frame contributed to the film’s noir-futuristic tone and realism.

Challenges we ran into

One major challenge was balancing realism with a futuristic visual identity. Achieving consistency between character lighting, environment tone, and narrative pacing required multiple iterations. Another difficulty was optimizing AI-generated sequences to flow naturally without breaking immersion. Budget limitation was also a factor, managing high-quality results with minimal spending demanded creativity and patience.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We successfully built a complete short film narrative powered primarily by AI tools, proving that cinematic storytelling can emerge from accessible technology. The project visualizes a powerful emotional arc, from loss to revenge, with strong world-building and believable character design.

What we learned

We learned that combining AI tools with human storytelling allows for faster creativity and deeper emotional expression. Each platform contributes a unique strength, Leonardo.Ai for visuals, Kling for motion, and traditional editing for heart. Most importantly, we learned that stories driven by truth and justice resonate beyond visuals.

What's next for THE SNIPER

Next, THE SNIPER will expand into a full episodic format, exploring how Vrans continues his hunt, targeting Nyx and the shadow network behind his father’s murder. Future plans include producing a longer version with improved motion, sound design, and expanded lore about the futuristic world he inhabits.
