TNGHS conservation area management includes conservation area management activities aimed at ensuring the effectiveness of overall area management which includes natural reserve areas, nature conservation areas and game parks. One of the activities in conservation area management is patrol activities which act as a preventive measure against all forms of forestry violations and crimes that may occur. Cikaniki Resort, with an area of 87,669 Ha, is one of 17 RPTNs which are currently carrying out patrol activities. However, in its implementation, there are still limitations in the number of human resources so that patrols cannot be carried out optimally. Therefore, other solutions are needed so that patrol activities can remain optimal. One of these solutions is maximizing the role of KTH and using technology more effectively and efficiently.
KTH (Forest Farmers Group) has an obligation to take part in forest conservation at Cikaniki Resort, because KTH is part of the conservation partnership at TNGHS which is managed by the community around the conservation area. Based on Director General Regulation No.P/6/KSDAE/SET/KUM.1/6/2018 regarding Petunjuk Teknis Kemitraan Konservasi pada Kawasan Suaka Alam dan Kawasan Pelestarian Alam, it is stated that conservation partnerships have an obligation to carry out their management, including:
- Comply with the agreements in the cooperation agreement
- Protect against forest fires, hunting, land grabbing and mining
- Play an active role in implementing ecosystem restoration activities
- Report to area management unit officers if they find disturbances in or around the partnership area
- No later than 1 (one) year after the partnership is implemented, partners are obliged to planting local native or endemic plants.
