The Showcal: Lollapalooza

The Showcal: Lollapalooza is an interactive, audiovisual menu of all the artists playing each day at Lollapalooza. It uses the APIs of HackLolla, Facebook, YouTube and EchoNest to provide an incredibly rich and easy-to-use experience for quickly discovering and getting a taste of all the acts playing at the festival. On The Showcal, artists' big and beautiful Facebook photos instantly give a flavor of the band, and are displayed along with their name, facebook fan count, and the stage they'll be playing on. These photos can be sorted in multiple ways and are also easily scrollable.  To learn more about any artist, just click their photo and you can instantly watch many of their music videos on YouTube, follow links to visit their social media pages, and view what time they go on stage. Additionally, if you log in via Facebook connect, The Showcal (with the help of EchoNest's API) will look through the bands you are already a fan of and then recommend the artists each day that you should see.   With so many bands and so little time, The Showcal: Lollapalooza is an immensely powerful and fun way to make sure you get the very best out of your days at Lollapalooza.
