The game and story were inspired by classic RPG games, especially RuneScape and Castlevania. We also drew inspirations from gamebooks such as Lone Wolf for the storyline.
What it does
The game is a 2D side scroller game with random encounters with monsters and built in dialogue scenes.
How we built it
We mainly used the Phaser 3 framework to build the game.
Challenges we ran into
This was our first foray into game development, and we struggled to animate sprites properly and layer the images we wanted to use. Event triggers also posed many difficulties along the way.
Accomplishments that we are proud of
We managed to make a playable game from scratch that runs smoothly. We have also built a game that has potential to be further developed storywise.
What we learnt
Game development is not easy at all.
