Inspiration
The inspiration for this game mainly came from all of our mutual passion for video games. After brainstorming for projects we can create using this years theme, this is what we came up with.
What it does
The Salty Seas is a low poly, mission based rpg made in Unity. The main objective is to collect the coins and explore the unknown islands for all they have to offer.
How we built it
We built The Salty Seas in Unity using a variety of different low poly assets and C# scripts.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into a lot of challenges, one being that we had to figure out how to make unity collaborative, learn how to use C# and navigate the unity UI to bring our ideas to life.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We're proud that we finished a lot of the small goals we had set out at the start. This was a very fun and eyeopening project on what we can do in the world of game development and we only scraped the surface.
What we learned
We learned how to use Unity and create different scenes and create a game, with more time we can most definitely improve and make a more in depth game
What's next for The Salty Seas
We plan on making more levels and add more interactions as well as animations and make the game a lot more polished, but with the time we had we believe we did very well, especially for not knowing anything about Unity at the start of these 36 hours.
