Inspiration

The Saint of Mount Peril is inspired by some of my favorite survival games. The beauty in solitude of "The Long Dark", the animal instincts of "Ancestors", the simplicity and colour of "Astroneer"

What it does

It pits players against a challenging environment and forces them to choose between rescuing avalanche survivors and their own survival.

How I built it

I used AI image generation to create the backgrounds, characters and UI placeholders and publishing software to assemble the packages.

Challenges I ran into

How much detail to include in the concept. I tried to focus on the concept and not bog down the viewer with every aspect and detail.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Getting to elaborated on this idea. Retaining character and style consistency with image asset generation. Overall a pretty concise overview of a complicated concept.

What we learned

How to be realistic when revising the MVP and production plan. The project is very ambitious but creating a framework to expand in phases makes it doable and leaves room for player feedback.

What's next for The Saint of Mount Peril

I'd like to see it developed once the new Horizon tools are released.
