Inspiration

There are many different forms of epilepsy, and epileptic attacks come in many forms, not simply "seizures". Many people who have photosensitive epilepsy often go unnoticed and there are simply almost no accommodations given to those who have troubles with light sensitivity. Additionally, those with ADHD can have many problems with studying, focusing, and relaxing, so we wanted to provide a space that helps both those affected with epilepsy and ADHD.

What is the purpose

We are providing a room that helps minimize the triggers of epilepsy and helps keep ADHD-affected individuals from being too distracted. We ultimately wanted to create a safe room for those affected by these conditions to come in and de-stress and feel relaxed.

What did we use

Blender and Arki

Challenges we ran into

Arki doesn't support textures for the models, so we couldn't implement detailed textures for the floors, posters, art pieces, etc...

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Creating a nice AR rendering of what we had envisioned in our project.

What we learned

Epileptic attacks come in many forms, such as headaches and pain. Fidgeting while working can actually increase concentration for those with ADHD.

What's next for Arkitech

We intend to obtain funding from Texas A&M and construct this room in the Evans library.
