What it does
Duck Games is a collection of duck-themed minigames that can be played in a browser, with a shared leaderboard for tracking every player's score.
How we built it
The Duck Games are built in Unity for WebGL. We use Django, HTML, and CSS for hosting the menu and games, and for interfacing with the SQLite database that stores user and leaderboard information.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing user authentication was a major challenge, but we were able to figure it out after a good night's sleep. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to add the Unity WebGL build to the Django server before the submission deadline.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of our project's rock-solid backend and its intuitive frontend interface.
What we learned
We learned a lot about backend web design, game development in Unity, and how to work as a team.
What's next for The Rubber Duckies
We plan on finishing the games and deploying the server so that anyone can enjoy our project!
