Inspiration
As teenagers, we love to play computer games... However, parents find it a waste of time. With the improvment of blockchain technology, companies have been building GameFi where it deploys Play-To-Earn Model. However, this results in players only interested in earning money aspect of the game, defeating the original purpose of game which is to have fun. We have personally tried on the popular GameFi such as Axie Infinitity and find a big lapse in connection, interaction among players and competitiveness in the game itself. There needed to be a creative platform where both playing experience and earning is maximised.
What it does
Our project provides a revolutionary upgrade to the GameFi industry. As consumers ourselves, we indentified the gaps in the current market, to make the GameFi industry fun, exciting and inclusive without sacrifising on the earning part. This helps to promote both playing and earning amongst teenagers which is a win - win situation for all.
How we built it
Our first prong is to build a E-sports website to hold competitions , we used python FLASK, HTML CSS to build the development server. We will run it on AWS EC2 for production. Our second prong is to allow customized avatar for people to identify and express themselves. This allows trades on their personalised collection and promote interaction between players. We also used 3D printing technology if players wish to purchase their unique avatar that represents themselves.
Challenges we ran into
With minimal experience in coding, designing and 3D printing, we had to learn everything from scratch. We tried to play around with different features until we reached our objective. However, we are still currently working on a demo prototype and development phase. We have yet to come up with the ready to use integrations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We managed to come up with everything we planned to do. From 3D printing to website design, we learnt how operate different programs within 2 days.
What's next for The Rise of GameFi
We are hoping in the near future, GameFi can build a bigger community base and will be the new trend for everyone.
