The Resolve

Inspiration

"The Resolve" is a powerful story where people are forced to bow their heads and cannot look up at the starry sky. When creating this story, I could feel the character's struggle and her longing for freedom. Although Shu Ying ultimately discovers that the freedom she pursues is meaningless, she still continues searching.

What it does

"The Resolve" depicts Shu Ying's solitary struggle on the planet Jinqiong. Driven by her yearning for the starry sky, she repeatedly defies the "bowing down" rules of the Jinqiong civilization. Her acts of rebellion provoke a fierce response from the Jinqiong civilization, ultimately leading to her exile to the planet's surface. On the surface, she faces ruins and solitude alone, continuing to pursue her beliefs and freedom.

How we built it

Used Midjourney and Flux for image generation, used Kling and Dreamina for AI video production.

How we built it

The color grading this time was very stylistic, but it fell into the trap of overall dark colors, making it difficult to properly control the lighting effects. In my future works, I will try a different color grading approach to solve this color grading issue.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

This is the first episode of adapting 25 computational universe short stories into AI films - a great beginning.

What we learned

This is my first video returning to AI video creation, and I learned how to use new tools. AI video technology iterates very quickly, which was a completely new experience for me when using the technology. I also learned how to create long-form narratives and tell a complete story using AI.

What's next for The Resolve

I have 25 computational universe short stories to adapt into AI films, and "The Resolve" is the 1st one.
