Inspiration

Early in the morning, after a long night of hacking, we found that the circuit we were originally building as part of our original project did not work (at this point, it seems like we just had the wrong hardware components and the ICs we were using were not working as a result). So, we decided to switch project ideas and create the Real Apple Music (C).

What it does

Combining nature and music, we came up with a way to use apples to play music.

How I built it

We realized that the Adafruit Circuit Playground Express allows for capacitive touch sensing. By looking back on our past physics knowledge, we were able to incorporate apples so we could play music.

Challenges I ran into

Not having the right electronic components to build a circuit, and also bananas are more capacative and do not work as well as apples.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

Making something work at the end of 24 hours with very little sleep, and changing to work on this project very late into the hackathon.

What I learned

Testing is a must, and the hackathon allowed us to do so. The original project was to set up architecture for a future project for the Tufts Electric Racing team. However, since things went wrong, we learned how fast we can learn more and create things.

What's next for The Real Apple Music

Who knows? More music.
