The Aggie Radio

a space just for you

Our Process

During the construction of our website we spent a prolonged period of time on our initial planning of our design. Collectively we utilized Figma and Lucidchart which were instrumental in visualizing our product. From our designs, we began to construct our website from both the back and front ends. Everyone in the team had a significant role assigned to them in order for our site to form seamlessly. After the individual construction of both portions we connected the front and back ends. From there, we continued to debug the code and polish the visual features and the user interface of our site.

Challenges we ran into

As our most of our team had only ever used Python or C++, we were unfamiliar with the languages required to code an entire website from scratch. Due to the infinite amount of design options, we encountered a difficult time deciding on a theme and overall "look" for the site. Regardless of those hurdles, we were able to form a functioning website that accomplished our end goals.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Throughout the past 24 hours we have come very far as a team. We were able to turn our goal into reality. More specifically, we are really proud of being able to connect our front and back ends cohesively because that was really difficult.

What we learned

As the first hackathon we have competed in, we learned how to navigate using both HTML and JavaScript even though they were completely new to us. As a group we also realized how much effort and time went into the creation of a website and how rewarding it really is.

What's next for The Aggie Radio

After the hackathon, we hope to expand the app officially across the Texas A&M campus.
