She already has a hidden talent, let's just groom it

Inspiration

According to a survey we conducted , we found that 72% of house working women are really interested in exploring various technologies, for which they haven’t got a chance earlier in life. Apart from this we can find many women around us who wants to restart their career either to support their family or become financially independent. This inspired us to come up with an innovative platform, where they can learn, implement , reciprocate their learnings along with expressing their ideas in front of the world and learning from the experience of others .

What it does

The basic concept behind our project is of the three R's. Here R stands for Read, Reciprocate, Revolutionize. Read implies learning. Reciprocate signifies implementing and spreading what you have learnt and Revolutionize means sharing your expertise and wisdom with others to sort their queries, expressing your ideas to inspire others and to share your experiences to motivate people to step out and go for the road less travelled and bring the desired change in the society.

Our web application consists of the following section to implement the above concept:

It has got a discussion forum page , where members and supporters of Aspire for her can connect , interact and help each other grow. It is further sub-divided into the following sections :
Interview experience- To help the novice learn and improvise from the experience of others.
Careers: In this , the existing members and also the supporters, can post about a job availability in their company and could also provide referral to the job seekers if possible.
General Discussion- This will provide all the members and supporters a platform to exchange their ideas and resolve their queries without any hesitation.
The second webpage includes the following sub-parts:
Exploring our courses: This includes a plethora of courses ranging from basic to advanced level technologies like MS PowerPoint, MS Word, HTML, Machine Learning. It's core objective is to provide the novice a platform with all the resources easily available to explore and identify the field that suits their interest the best.
Implement the learnings: This sections consists of projects posted by an individual or startups, helping them to build a team of determined and passionate contributors and providing our members an hands on experience which can be reflected in their resume as well. The learning section has got an additional feature that if a person clears it with a certain score , then either they can be assigned as the mentor in Aspire for her for girls who understands better on being taught or be provided with a freelancing service.

How we built it

We have built it by using the technologies html5, css3 and bootstrap. Then we merged it using Github and made the final commit. Currently two of our pages titled Discussion forum and Projects are in working and rest of the tabs in the navbar shows the pages that a general website has.Also we recommend to have a look at our website on laptop.

Challenges we ran into

This was the very first time when we participated in a hackathon. As we were new to web development implementing our ideas into practical application was not so smooth. Also the time constraint and solely virtual interaction was another barrier to accomplish our task smoothly.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Making a platform to identify the hidden talent of our society gave us a feeling of self satisfaction as well contribute in the approach that no talent goes in vain. Although time constraint initially seem to be a barrier ,but during the process we managed to come up with at least some productive idea and implement them as well, which was altogether a great experience.

What we learned

This project proved to be a kickstart for us to implement our basic knowledge of html/ css into a presentable website We also learned about time management and expressing our ideas into some viable project. Also while analyzing the survey data , we got an insight into the fact that a lot of females out there are interested in learning about new technologies and grow along.

What's next for The R's Triangle

R’s Triangle look forward for creating a voice search application as many people are not literate enough to search things by typing and regardless voice search makes things easier and faster for everyone . Also we aim to eradicate the language barrier, by incorporating multiple languages in our content and making it accessible to everyone.
