Inspiration
The line-up system followed by McMaster University notably at the Engineering office and OSAP office.
What it does
It keeps track of every user entering the Queue and using a RF scanner (USB powered), associates their information with the user's order in the line-up. Each entry triggers the laser beam sensors; which increments our counter block and adds the bar code to said user's profile memory. Our design also it sends the number of users and statistics to our Android app through the Cloud established through a Network.
How we built it
By connecting a Arduino to a Raspberry Pi. The Arduino computes and tracks the local data; monitoring the sensors being triggers and the Pi outputs to the peripherals using a GUI (RF Scanner, Touch Screen, Cloud and App)
Challenges we ran into
Installing drivers on the touch screen and having all the data match-up to be accurate. Also syncing up our Network to establish a linked connection.
