Inspiration
Inspired by our daily struggles of feeling unmotivated, unaccomplished, and bored, we created The Positivity Dashboard. It's a place to store your achievements when you doubt yourself, a place to store resources that motivate you when you're feeling down, and a place to store gratitudes to cultivate a positive mindset.
What it does
You can save your favourite motivational videos/essays/quotes for even little things such as eating healthy, working out, or even reading. You can also attach links to videos and even your fav music playlist to help feel more positive and happy.
How we built it
We created the frontend of the web app with HTML, CSS, and Javascript. To send the data to the MySQL database and display it on the website, we used PHP to connect and transfer data.
Challenges we ran into
This was our first hackathon, so it was challenging to be able to complete the project in such a short time frame. We also had challenges with deploying to Heroku and setting up a MySQL dashboard.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Building a project from scratch and submitting it within a 24hr timeframe.
What we learned
It was our first time experimenting with HTML, CSS, and PHP. We learned to code in a team and deploy a website.
What's next for The Positivity Dashboard
Adding a secure login for the users which allows them to have a more personal space to save their accomplishments and motivational videos. We are also working on adding a google extension that allows the users to add resources without needing to login to the website.
