Most wine and drink recommendations feel like they were written for billionaires in 1985.

Who actually drinks a $200 Bordeaux on a Tuesday with leftover Thai takeout or a 1 AM smashburger? 🍷🍔 I wanted to fix that. So I built My Pocket Bartender — a live, working AI Sommelier & Beverage Director prototype running on Google AI Studio. Instead of pretentious tasting notes, it breaks down real flavor chemistry: contrasting acid against fats, balancing spice with residual sugars, and matching tannins with proteins. Whether you type in:

🌮 Street tacos from a late-night food truck 🍟 Truffle fries with garlic aioli 🍕 A greasy slice of pepperoni pizza 🥩 Or dry-aged Wagyu ribeye... It uncorks the exact drink to order in seconds. 💡 What I built into this prototype: • High-Low Pairing Intelligence: Equally passionate about pairing McDonald's french fries (Brut Champagne) as it is with Michelin-level dishes.

• Geo-location Currency & Real Budgeting: Auto-detects where you are in the world (USD $, GBP £, EUR €, CAD CA$, AUD A$, JPY ¥, etc.) and lets you input your exact budget (e.g. $25).

• Curated Cellar & Craft Bar: Discover wine cellar reserves, craft beer profiles, and complete cocktail mixology recipes with shaker instructions.

• 1-Click Deep Links: Share any dish or bottle directly with a friend; the link opens and highlights the exact recommendation on their device.

• Local Discovery: Connects with Google Maps to show which liquor stores and cocktail bars are open near you right now.

Let’s test its limits! Drop the most unusual meal you’ve eaten recently in the comments (e.g. pineapple pizza, hot dogs, spicy ramen), and let's see what the AI pairs with it.
