Inspiration
A lot of people are misinformed in 2020, we felt like we had to build something that was understandable. Since our whole team are complete beginners, this project was realistic to make.
What it does
We build a little .exe app with unity that lets you simulate a sneeze with different types of face coverings. We also collected data all around the web, treated it with pandas and excel, and put it on a website. We break down exactly how masks both filter and reduce the reach of the corona virus droplets. Our Website
How I built it
We built the mini game with unity with its physics engine. The other data was made with a lot of different methods depending on what was simpler( pandas, seaborne, excel). Although many web developers disapprove of using websites like Wix, it was the easiest way to present our data and game engine.
Challenges I ran into
We had a lot of trouble finding data. Since the corona virus is a very popular topic, it was really hard to find numerical values. We also had a lot of trouble team coding since the IDE would update strangely and make us lose a lot of work.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
We're proud of our efficiency. We never thought we would be able to accomplish something considering how new we are, but it turned out being really interesting.
What I learned
We learned how to use the unity engine with 3d models. We learned about team coding, which was also very challenging. We become more proficient with the data science libraries.
What's next for The physics of masks
MORE DATA, MORE GRAPHS, MORE OF CORONA MINI GAMES !!!!
