Inspiration

We are a group of artists, critical thinkers and activists and we use technology as a medium to express our creativity. We believe the President of the US (presumably the most power person in the world) should spend less time on social media bickering with foes, berating the less privileged and focus more on how to make the country and the world a better place. Unfortunately we live in the world where the opposite is true.

What it does

Similar to how the Department of Homeland security employs color levels to indicate the over "threat" levels, our webpage and mobile app lets the population know the mental state of Donal Trump. The more he spends time on twitter the more orange the indicator becomes. The indicator is this case is an orange. We decided to use the orange....to show...well...you get it....

How we built it

The Webpage/webapp monitors Trump's twitter account. It counts his number of tweets over a 24 hour period and rates his activity from 1 - 10 (1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest). This number is then mapped to the shade of the orange the changes when this number is updated. The phone app queries the webpage to get updates and users can see the same info on the native android app.

Challenges we ran into

We are electronics hardware folks. We never done this level of software. EVER. Over the course of 12 hours we taught ourselves Android app development, client and server side interaction, deploying web apps on remote servers. The biggest challenge was integrating all the moving part together to make a seamless experience.
