Inspiration
I wanted to explore the hidden mechanics of corporate monopolies in a visually striking, cinematic anime style. The story focuses on a futuristic eyewear monopoly, Oculon, inflating glasses prices unethically, and the underground rebel group, ClearSight, fighting to restore fairness. Themes of consumer manipulation, rebellion, and social justice drive the narrative.
What it does
The Oculon Scam exposes a stylized corporate conspiracy through a cyberpunk anime lens. It combines thrilling action, suspenseful storytelling, and aesthetic world-building to make viewers question power, ethics, and the price of vision—literally and metaphorically.
How we built it
I used Higgsfield to generate consistent keyframe images, Grok to animate, Suno for the soundtrack, ChatGPT to help develop the storyline and pacing, and CapCut to edit all elements into a cohesive short film.
Challenges we ran into
Maintaining visual consistency across cyberpunk cityscapes and characters, conveying corporate tension clearly in a short runtime, and balancing cinematic storytelling with action-packed sequences were the main hurdles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Successfully created a cohesive 90-second anime narrative with distinct characters, a visually rich world, and a suspenseful story that communicates the Oculon monopoly scam and the rise of ClearSight. The animation, music, and visuals integrate seamlessly to deliver an immersive experience.
What we learned
I learned how to combine AI tools for storytelling, animation, and music to craft a complete narrative short film. The process reinforced the importance of planning, prompt precision, and consistency in visual storytelling.
What's next for The Oculon Scam | Anime Short Film
I plan to expand this world with longer episodes exploring more corporate conspiracies, deeper character arcs, and additional rebel operations by ClearSight. Future versions will enhance cinematic flair, character depth, and narrative complexity while maintaining a distinctive cyberpunk anime aesthetic.
