Inspiration
Ever since Nodle's CEO, Micha Benoliel, was a kid he wanted to connect the planet for free. It never made sense to him that we have to pay to stay connected, especially when we travel, for example. Connectivity should be free, simple, and global.
What it does
Nodle is the world’s largest ecosystem of connected devices, providing infrastructure, software and access to data for the Internet of Things. The Nodle network expands by the implementation of our SDK in third party apps which detect IoT devices and send the information to our servers and then the cloud.
How we built it
We built the following to make the Nodle Network possible;
Frontend: Android app was built as a user interface. Android SDK available for 3rd party developers to integrate. Web dashboard available for individual developer/users to track Nodle packet uploads. Web wallet for NODLE coin allocation as a reward. Nodle Website
Backend: AWS resources available for Nodle website hosting Multiple servers are deployed to capture the data coming from frontend. Analytics server which post process all the received data IPFS clusters architecture for NODLE coin mining and allocation
Challenges we ran into
1: BLE scanning has several limitations on Smartphones as it involves data privacy. It was important to build a technology which does not impact user privacy or location tracking. After several improvements, we have built a solution where user data is secured.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are most proud of three things: 1: launching our cryptocurrency in December 2018 (NODL) 2: growing the Nodle Network to 2.5 million daily active nodes 3: the trust built within our team
What we learned
We learned that IoT is still a new field and concept for many folks, and that the need for education is a huge part of our work at Nodle. We discovered that the capabilities of IoT connectivity extends far beyond our expectations since it's application has proven useful within most markets. Finally, as new technology emerges we are seeing new ways that AI, blockchain, and IoT not only will be useful to integrate together but must be integrated in order to allow for mass adoption.
What's next for The Nodle Network
1: Building an ecosystem of all the IoT devices using BLE 2: Enable two communication for any IOT sensors via crowd sourced Bluetooth connection.
