5 of our 6 members are people of color and would love to see Texas A&M empower students. Two of our members are also members of the Latinx community and provided their input on what they would like to see in a resource center.

The New Latinx Center provides resources for the latinx community, such as tutoring services, a law center, a career and financial aid services.

We built the center based on what our Latinx members would like to see in a physical space dedicated to them. We also tried to incorporate the different identities of our group, and think about how this center could be a space for the LGBTQ+, disabled, and other intersectional identities as well.

Challenges we ran into included 3d modeling the floors of our Latinx Center design in the given time frame.

We are proud of the ideas that we came up with and how they could impact the Texas A&M student population.

We learned what efforts other universities, such as Purdue and University of Southern California, are doing to serve their Latinx student populations. We also learned statistics relating to intersectional identities, such as the Latinx transgender community.

Next for the Latinx Center is further developing our ideas and gaining more input from members of the Latinx community.
