Inspiration

Cloud AI asks for a terrible trade: give it everything, or get generic answers. Local models got good enough to run on a NAS — but they live in silos. One app, one agent, no deliberation. We wanted what companies have — a boardroom of specialists arguing until the truth survives — running entirely on hardware we own.

What it does

The NAS Boardroom seats five local experts on your UGREEN NAS — the Archivist, the Analyst, the Auditor, and the Scout, chaired by the Chair. You bring a question and your own files. They speak in turn: the Archivist finds the files, the Analyst reads them, the Scout checks what is missing, and the Auditor can veto a risky delete. Nothing reaches you until it survives cross-examination. Every verdict ships with receipts — the exact files and passages behind it — and one heading appended to Boardroom/DECISIONS.md. No cloud. No leaks. No flattery.

The architecture (Round 1 proposal)

UGOS as the stage: Ollama-class local models as the agents, an orchestration layer that runs structured debate rounds, a vector index over your NAS shares for evidence retrieval, and a web UI that renders the debate live — you watch the disagreement happen. Round 1 delivers the full proposal and the SKILL.md spec; Round 2 is the build on UGREEN hardware.

Challenges we're designing around

Dissent. Local models are agreeable — left alone, a "boardroom" becomes an echo chamber. Our fix: give the Auditor a hard veto and score rounds on evidence quality, not confidence.

Hardware. Multi-agent debate on NAS-class silicon forces ruthless context budgets — short system prompts, tight retrieval windows, and verdicts over vibes.

What we learned

Consensus isn't found, it's forged — and the forging is where the value is. Also: receipts change everything. When an answer cites your files, you either trust it more or catch it lying. Both outcomes are wins.

What's next

Round 2: the full build on UGREEN hardware, more expert seats, and a skill marketplace so your boardroom can hire specialists.
