For a daily commuter in Delhi, 'The MODE' which is an app that predicts which mode of transportation you should take today based on the weather data and traffic conditions.
Inspiration As a daily commuter I want to view which mode of transportation I can take today to travel to the office, school or university so, that I will save my time in making a decision when I am in a morning rush.
What it does 'The MODE' is an app that predicts which mode of transport you should take today to your destination based on the weather data and traffic conditions in Delhi.
How we built it We used weather API, distance API and traffic API to predict the outcomes using machine learning algorithms such as Gradient Boosting Classifier which has given 98% accuracy.
Challenges we ran into We faced challenges such as collecting relevant labelled datasets, choosing the right machine learning algorithm to work with for predictions and achieving high accuracy for the model.
Accomplishments that we're proud of That we managed to complete the project in time with good accuracy and satisfying results.
What we learned We learned to cocreate the project and sync with teammates, time management and how to handle unlabeled datasets and how to create labels for datasets as well as achieve the desired accuracy for our model.
What's next for The MODE We plan to host the app and also introduce many different features in our app.
