We looked at data sets concerning Bitcoin and its sustainability over a

range of 4 years (2015-2019):

Price of Bitcoin

Number of bitcoins mined per year

Price of electricity

Energy usage in mining Bitcoin

CO2 emissions per kW/h From there on out, we use those data sets to calculate the earnings obtained in a year for bitcoin mining. We subtract from this the money spent on energy for producing it and we get the profit. We also calculate the C02 emissions produced by the energy used to mine Bitcoins. We collect this data to try to figure out if it ́s a sustainable way of earning money.
