Inspiration
We were inspired by our love for video games and recent influences with Computer Science course topics.
What it does
This is a maze game, where the player starts in the middle and tries to find their way out, but there's a twist. The maze is constantly changing, challenging players to be speedy and quick to identify the path.
How we built it
We built this game using Unity Editor, C#, and Github.
Challenges we ran into
The biggest challenge was figuring out how to use Unity. While it is a platform designed for game creators, it has a pretty steep learning for beginners, especially those learning it for the first time.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
All team members had almost no experience using Unity or its scripting language C#, so being able to create a fully working game with visuals is a big step for all of us.
What we learned
We learned how to use Unity's object based approach to game development, how to use scenes, how to script with Unity objects, sprite creating, importing and rendering, and solidified our skills in Github.
What's next for The Maze Runner
Next would be a title screen, proper statistics recording, and more dynamic game elements like enemies and animations.
