Inspiration : Examination halls experience chaos, overcrowding, manual seating, and finding the right examination hall. We aimed to simplify and optimize the process as much as possible for the exam controller and the students.

What it does: The Matrix takes care of management of examinations, students, halls, and seating arrangements. An admin creates examinations and configures halls, benches, departments and students. Students input exam code and registration number to find out their hall, seat, department, location via Google maps and their seat number visually.

How we built it: We built The Matrix as an Admin and Student Web Portal linked to the same central database that automatically calculates exam constraints, student database, hall capacity, benches and makes seating arrangement.

Challenges we ran into: Dealing with lots of students, different departments, hall capacity, benches and making sure that no conflicts occur in seating allocation were some of our main challenges. We also made it as easy as possible for the student to navigate through the portal.

Accomplishments that we're proud of: We managed to revolutionize a traditional, manual method of seating arrangement by making an automated seating arrangement system providing structured examination information.

What we learned: How to deal with constraint-based system, design and develop structured database, allocate resources automatically and how to make user friendly interfaces.

What's next for The Matrix: Future work includes making seating arrangement process more efficient by applying AI, hall balancing, QR Verification, tracking attendance, changing seats dynamically and integrating it more into the institutional examination system.
